product info & sizing chart HEADING_TITLE

The most important part of buying a designer sling is measuring yourself with a soft tape measure, diagonally from shoulder to hip. If you are pregnant and showing, measure diagonally across your back. This will give you the most accurate guide for sizing. Do I really have to? YEP

GOOD FIT = lowest point in the pink zone

Slinglings pouch-style baby slings are made from quality, snuggle-ready stretch cotton fabrics in a variety of prints and solid colours. They're available with or without leg padding and are a perfect fit for newborns through to toddlers up to 35 lbs/15k. They offer an excellent range of fabrics without the designer price tag. They are a great option for Dads.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PADDED AND UNPADDED SLINGS?
Slinglings offer two different types of slings - padded and unpadded. Padded slings are designed to give the older baby/ toddler (from about 6 months up) a little extra comfort in any legs out carrying position i.e. hip carry, tummy to tummy, or back carry. There are two sections of padding about 10" x 1.5" sewn into either side of the curved seam of the sling. This padded section is designed to go under the baby's legs, in the bend behind their knees. Padded slings can be used for newborns as well, although if this is the case, the padded sections should be worn uppermost and on the outer rail (refer to photos below).

HELPFUL HINTS FOR SIZING:

    * slings are non adjustable, so the right fit is important

    * Every  sling company makes it’s baby slings to different size specifications i.e. a SMALL won’t be exactly the same in Peanut   Shell and Lucky Baby.

    * It’s your size (not the baby’s) that determines what sling you need

    * Most people can wear 2 different sizes-as you can in clothes. Each person is shaped different and has a personal preference that cannot be accounted for - these charts are a suggestion and not a guarantee.

    * If you are new to sling wearing with the correct snug fit you may even think it is too small. BUT you should be comfortable

    * Most women wear the same size sling as they do a fitted t-shirt.  It’s not an exact way to pick a size but it’s a great place to start.

    * The slings will shrink approximately 1 inch when washed and dried on medium high heat.  We have already taken this into consideration and have sized up the slings slightly to account for this.  If you order a size up because you're worried about the shrinkage, it may be too big and exchanging can be a hassle.

    *  With your baby in the sling, the bottom of the sling should hit your body near your hip bone.  For best fit, it should be at or just above your hip bone.

TOO TIGHT:

    * If the sling is too small you have won't even be able to get the baby in or will feel like you can't breathe.

    * If the sling is several inches above your hip bone and feels very tight, then you need to exchange it for the next size larger.

TOO LOOSE:

    * If your sling is too big your baby will not feel secure and will ride too low on your body (lower than your hip bones). This is not only unsafe for your child but may also lead to back and/or shoulder discomfort
    *  If the sling is several inches below your hip bone and feels too loose then you need to exchange it for the next size smaller.  Keep in mind, however, that you can shrink the sling by 1" by washing it with like colours on cold and then drying it on medium high heat in the dryer.  If the sling feels only slightly too big, then wash it and dry it and try again.

    * If you are concerned about buying the incorrect size, visit our FAQ's to find out about returns/ exchanges
